Hello, my name is Kun Xi. I am happily married to Dr. Hui Jin and live in the beautiful Sammamish, where we raised our two kids, Chloe and Gavin.
I currently work remotely for Epic Games to deliver the artifacts more effectively to the end users. Before that, I worked in Airbnb to bring a peace of mind to our hosts. Feel free to checkout my LinkedIn profile, or my resume for more information.
I started this blog in Blogger on 2005, then migrated to Wordpress thanks to its versatility. First hosted WordPress, later I hopped on the VPS bandwagon to self-host WordPress. The blog was abandoned in 2012, then rekindled in 2013 with the migration to static site generators. I’ve tried jekyll/octopress, nanoc, metalsmith, and currently settle on the great gatsby.
UX is clearly not my strongest suite, so I take the opportunity to explore the wonderland. I started from the full-fledged CSS framework, like bootstrap; then gravitated to customizing minimal CSS framework with sass and its friends. With the migration to gatsby, I started to experiment the functional CSS approach with tachyons, then tailwindcss.
This site is built with the great gatsby and various plugins, notably:
- remark, the super-power behind the gatsby-transformer-remark
- inkscape, the poor man’s Illustrator.
- chartist.js, for its simplicity.
